Patclean readme file -

Installing:

Make a hard drive folder named Patclean on your hard
drive. Using winzip or PKZip, unzip the contents of
patclean20.zip into that folder. (all included files
must be in the same folder)

What it does:

In a Windows32 Pserver, as you add rooms, play with
scripts, etc., blank lines get added to the pat file,
sometimes causing slow response to the server, which
can result in lag for your visitors, and require more
memory to run. Patclean removes the extra blank lines,
and makes sure that the empty lines separating room
scripts as required by unix/linux servers are properly
in place. (Sorry, Patclean doesn't fix corrupted room
scripts or other possible problems.)

ALWAYS make a backup of your .pat file, and keep it in
a safe place, before running this program, editing the
pat file, etc. Griffinslair is not responsible for
misuse of, or unforeseen errors caused by, this program.

Running Patclean -

double click on patclean.exe -
click on "Select and Process file"
After selecting the .pat file to process, be patient;
the program runs rather slowly, but it IS doing
something ! when the processing is complete (it will
tell you when it's finished) click "Quit" to exit the
program.

Note: Patclean was written for Windows 95 and later,
using Liberty Basic 3.01. if you are familiar with
Liberty Basic, and wish to modify the program for your
own use, send a request to griffinslair via e-mail.
